Smith-Watkins K2 Professional Bb Cornet
$7,999.00
The Smith-Watkins K2 is a genuine all-rounder - a hand-built professional Bb cornet from the renowned English maker founded by Dr Richard Smith. It is the instrument of choice for many leading brass band players and a firm favourite with the Royal Marines Band Service and the Royal Air Force.
At its heart is the K2 leadpipe, the most popular in the Smith-Watkins cornet range. Combined with a large .470" bore, it delivers a rich, centred brass band sound with the freedom and projection to lead a section, while staying responsive and easy to articulate at every dynamic.
Smith-Watkins pair this with some of the lightest valves available, running on brass valve guides with corrosion-resistant Monel pistons and phosphor bronze springs, for a fast, smooth action that stays that way. 1st and 3rd slide triggers give quick, accurate tuning on the move.
